Well Log #4 – Sarah’s Lasagna – (2/28/26)

"Cruising down 140, Narragansett sign,
Suddenly the colors seem to come alive,
Whirly birds and animals set free, set free, set free, set free… Set Free"

The ride home tonight was quiet. Chris and I were reflective. We listened to old music I found on Dropbox mixed among the newer Sterling tracks—songs I recorded with Ethan fourteen years ago now. Fourteen years. Wow.

Practice went well. We introduced the last three songs—Here a Little, Magpie, and Heywood Basin. Then we played all nine from the top.

“I can’t wait until next week,” Chris said, excitement in his voice.

We talked about venues and possibilities for the recording performance.

At home I heated up the lasagna Jen had packed for me—one meat and one vegetable. Sarah made them the night before. I chopped vegetables. We dropped them in the oven when we arrived at Jen’s.

I’m feeling grateful. Almost high on life. Like there’s a soundtrack playing under everything. Maybe a little too high.
