Well Log #9 – Small Pizzas (3/26/26)
Jen ordered pizza for dinner tonight—she insists on small pizzas, she says they taste better. They were good.
Great practice tonight. We have Friday off to rest up and everyone is feeling good about recording day Saturday at the college. I think we’re ready and honestly, a bit tired, in a good way.
We looked over everything as we packed up and reviewed Saturday’s agenda. It all went by rather quickly. We have all bonded a bit and some real friendships have been started.
Joe paused at the doorway on his way out, his hands over his head and resting on the door header. He was looking like he was taking it all in, satisfied and I think maybe a little grateful. He said goodnight as he left to his car. I walked him out and admired his car—a VW something or other, nice ride.
We double checked everything on the way out. I think we are ready. Nate grabbed the remaining slices of pizza on his way out—or maybe Alex will get them, Jen’s daughter.
Chris’s guitar solo on Heywood Basin sounded great tonight. He’s been working on something new.
So we meet again on Saturday at the college. We had set-up day on Wednesday, reviewed our set up with John and Claudia, set up the drums—well, started to—John will finish up.
We have a green room and assigned monitor guys who are responsible to make sure we are hearing everything as we like. Excited.
We put in the work, hoping everything goes well. We shall see.
We were tight, overall.
